Support animal certification benefits

Emotional support animals offer support to individuals who struggle with emotional or mental disabilities.  There are several ways that dogs and cats can support individuals.  Individuals who have a certification for an emotional support animal are entitled to certain benefits that other pet owners do not have.  There are many different diagnosis' that qualify an individual for an emotional support animal. They include: 
  • post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)
  • anxiety
  • depression
  • fear/phobias
  • panic disorder/panic attacks
  • mood disorders
  • personality disorders
  • seasonal affective disorder
  • social anxiety disorder
Here are just a few ways that individual's can find emotional support animals helpful:
  • They Help Produce Neurotransmitters. 
  • They Calm Anxiety On Planes. 
  • They Provide Unconditional Love. 
  • They Work In Conjunction With Other Forms Of Treatment. 
  • They Help Regulate Everyday Feelings. 
  • And They Can Help Stabilizing Intense Emotions.                                                                                                                 How does it help to have a emotional support animal certification? 
  • Emotional support animal certifications allow individuals access to housing with no pet policies, landlords are not able to turn down applicants with pets if they are certified emotional support animals.  Landlords may also not charge the pet deposit or monthly pet fees for certified animals.  In addition, certified animals are able to travel with their owner when flying in the cabin and are not subject to pet fees.
