Courteney Matteson, LPC, is a female therapist who works with children, teens, and adults, with a specialty and passion for working with kids and adolescents. She is EMDR-trained and primarily focuses on helping clients navigate trauma, emotional regulation, anxiety, behavioral concerns, and life stressors in a supportive and engaging environment.
She believes therapy should feel approachable, collaborative, and individualized to each client. She enjoys making sessions interactive, expressive, and tailored to clients’ unique strengths, interests, and personalities. She incorporates a variety of therapeutic modalities into her work, including EMDR, play-based therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, and Client-Centered approaches. Her goal is to help clients feel safe, understood, and empowered while building practical coping skills and confidence in themselves.
In addition to clinical work, she is also an author contributor to the book Play Therapy Treatment Planning with Children and Families, reflecting her commitment to creative and developmentally appropriate approaches when working with children and families. She strives to create a therapeutic space where clients of all ages can feel comfortable expressing themselves, processing difficult experiences, and working toward meaningful growth and healing.
