Family-Based Mental Health Therapist
Michelle Johnson
Michelle Johnson is a Family-Based Mental Health Therapist who believes meaningful progress happens when families feel understood, supported, and actively involved in the process of change. She works with children and adolescents ages 4–17 and their caregivers, helping families identify patterns that may be creating stress or conflict and build healthier ways of communicating, connecting, and responding to challenges.
Through the Ecosystemic Structural Family Therapy (ESFT) model, Michelle looks beyond an individual child’s behaviors or concerns to understand the relationships, experiences, and environments that may be influencing the family as a whole. Her work emphasizes strengthening caregiver-child relationships, improving communication, navigating behavioral and emotional challenges, and helping families develop strategies that are realistic for their everyday lives.
Michelle brings a trauma-informed and culturally responsive perspective to her work and recognizes that every family has its own strengths, values, experiences, and needs. She partners with caregivers while also collaborating with schools, medical providers, treatment teams, and community supports when appropriate. Her goal is to help families build on the strengths they already have while developing greater stability, resilience, and confidence in navigating challenges together.
