Olivia Benson, LPCMH, is a Licensed Professional Counselor of Mental Health who is passionate about helping individuals, couples, and adults navigate life’s challenges with compassion, clarity, and practical support.

She earned her master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Wilmington University and has worked in the mental health field for nine years. Her experience includes supporting individuals in substance abuse treatment within forensic and outpatient settings, working with children and families in mobile and community-based environments, and providing outpatient therapy to individuals and couples presenting with a wide range of concerns and diagnoses.

Olivia specializes in working with clients experiencing anxiety, depression, life transitions, self-esteem concerns, boundary and communication challenges, trauma and PTSD, relationship concerns, pre-marital and marital issues, women’s issues, and stress management. She also offers Christian-based approaches for clients who wish to incorporate faith into the therapeutic process.

Her therapeutic style is person-centered, collaborative, and strengths-based. Olivia believes clients are the experts of their own lives, and she works alongside them to provide practical tools, objective perspective, encouragement, and support for meaningful growth. She draws from evidence-based modalities including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and mindfulness-based interventions.

Clients working with Olivia can expect a warm and empathic environment where they feel accepted, supported, and safe to share openly. She encourages clients to move toward their personal and therapeutic goals, even when the process feels challenging, with the aim of helping them live more authentically and leave therapy feeling stronger than when they began.

Olivia takes a holistic view of healing and growth, recognizing the importance of caring for the mind, body, and spirit. Whether clients are facing a specific concern or seeking deeper personal understanding, she strives to help them address the full range of experiences that make them who they are.

Outside of her work, Olivia enjoys spending time with her family, engaging in creative activities, reading, walking and hiking, and traveling to experience new foods and cultures.

Olivia is honored to be considered as a supportive guide for clients beginning or continuing their counseling journey.
