Dr. Rebecca D. Trent, DSocSci, LPCMH, CADC is a behavioral health executive, clinician, and prevention science scholar with more than 15 years of leadership experience across mental health, substance use treatment, juvenile justice, and higher education. As CEO and Owner of Journeys LLC, she oversees strategic operations, program development, and quality assurance for a multi-program behavioral health agency serving youth, adults, and families across the region.
Dr. Trent’s expertise centers on the intersection of adolescent mental health, substance use, and co-occurring disorders. Her work spans direct clinical practice, systems-level leadership, and research in prevention science, with a focus on developmental factors, family systems, and environmental influences that shape youth behavioral health outcomes. She has led major initiatives in trauma-informed care, cognitive-behavioral program fidelity, and cross-system collaboration within state juvenile justice and behavioral health agencies.
A seasoned educator and consultant, Dr. Trent has served as adjunct faculty at Wilmington University for more than a decade, teaching upper-level Psychology courses and contributing to curriculum design. She also provides consultation to organizations seeking support with program evaluation, workforce development, and implementation of evidence-based practices.
Dr. Trent holds a Doctor of Social Science in Prevention Science and multiple clinical credentials in Delaware and Maryland. Her published work includes research on sustainable outcomes in adolescent gun-violence prevention. Known for her practical insight, systems-level perspective, and engaging presentation style, she brings a powerful blend of clinical expertise and organizational leadership to her speaking engagements.
